Good work, School Board

Published Tuesday, November 17, 2009

To the editor:

The Suffolk Substitute Teachers’ Association has watched the expansive growth of our city. We have also watched the way in which the School Board has adjusted to this explosive growth.

We applaud the way the board has assigned and reassigned the school population, and we applaud the board’s progressive action to move forward with plans for a new, consolidated elementary school.

The members of the Substitute Teachers’ Association thank the board once again for its past support and ask that it will continue to give the same degree of support during the upcoming budget discussions.

As members of this association, we stand hand-in-hand with classroom teachers, administrators, parents and students of Suffolk, pledging to help in all areas.

As substitute teachers, we will continue to be there for the students. We ask that the board continue to be there for us.

Freddie J. Wiggins

President, Suffolk Substitute

Teachers’ Association
