Thanks for the help on behalf of Madison

Published Tuesday, November 17, 2009

To the editor:

On behalf of the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office staff, I would like to send this letter of appreciation for all of the wonderful people who were instrumental in helping us with the benefit for Madison Arnot on Oct. 30 at the Isle of Wight County Fairgrounds.

There are so many people to thank: Mark Furlo, Parks & Recreation director; members of the Suffolk Police Department, who were the body and soul of Wicked Woods; businesses, civic organizations and corporations that donated food, drinks, paper products, bread and chips; volunteers who cooked, served food, supplied hay bales, trucks and tractors for the passenger tram; all of those who dressed up and scared the attendees as they made their way through the woods; and so many individuals who gave checks and money to the cause.

Working together for Madison, we are grateful to announce that $9,656 was raised and presented as a gift toward Madison’s medical expenses. None of this would have been possible without the help of those who gave of their time and resources. We are truly blessed with caring, giving people who have taken this brave young lady into their hearts.

For those who are wondering where to send donations, a medical account for Madison has been set up at Citizen’s National Bank, 11407 Windsor Blvd., Windsor, VA.
