Suffolk police are looking for a subject who cashed in a stolen lottery ticket on the morning of Oct. 18.
Police seek 'lucky' burglar

A winning lottery ticket could be the key to a burglary that took place in October, and police are looking for help in finding the lucky winner.
According to police reports, a burglar broke in to the Holiday Food store in the 3600 block of Pruden Blvd. at about 6 a.m. Oct. 18. The only thing the burglar stole was lottery tickets.
About 40 minutes after the burglary, a black male entered a Kangaroo Express located in the 2800 block of Pruden Blvd. and cashed in a winning scratch ticket in a transaction that was captured by the store’s surveillance cameras, according to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the subject from Kangaroo Express. He had dreadlocks and was wearing a gray jacket at the time that he cashed in the lottery ticket. Video from the burglary scene indicated that the suspect may have been operating a silver or light green, late-model Chevy S-10 Blazer or GMC Jimmy.
Anyone with information about the burglary or the man cashing in the lottery ticket should contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If a caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.

What? #1. Stole the tickets and #2. cashed them on the same street! Dumb A. He'll get arrested soon because that level of stupidity usually braggs and flaunts and has greedy crack head friends who will rat him out when he runs out of money....Won't be long!

O.D. might be joking about grabbing anyone off of the streets. But on the serious note, this happens everyday. The police will snatch some innocent individual at the wrong place at the wrong time and decide well " close enough ". I've witnessed this act many of times.
