Suffolk Police charged a 32-year-old man Tuesday with the murder of his wife.

Darren M. Moseley, of the 500 block of Causey Avenue, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder and cut, stab or wound in the death of 27-year-old Cathy Moseley, according to city spokeswoman Debbie George.

Cathy Moseley was reported missing by her husband and mother Monday, George said in a press release. Both reported they had not seen or heard from her since Friday. Moseley told police his wife left their home while he was at the store, after the two had a discussion about trying to fix their marital problems.

Cathy Moseley’s body was found in a vehicle in Isle of Wight County Tuesday. Police believe she died of multiple stab wounds, George said. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

My prayers goes out to Ms. Betty, Cathy's babies and the whole family. I grew up with Cathy, we go way back to Kilby Shores and Colander Bishop Apartments. I just cant believe this is true. Ms. Betty your baby is in a better place with God and she now has her wings and will be watching over you and the family. God will see to it that justice is served.

I knew Cathy for only a short time, I had the pleasure of meeting her when she came in my place of work. She had a really sweet spirit, outgoing and I could tell that she loved to laugh, she loved her family her mom and her kids. She was a good and loving person who did not deserve this. Our laws are so corrupt when it comes to domestic violence. This is what it has to come to before the authories can really step in an take action. No, I don't know the details of this particular situation but I do know that we need to take a stand against domestic violence. Yes the battered women's shelter and their services are great, yes you have the option of a protective order, yes you can contact the police, yes you can be aware and the list goes on and on. The sad part about it is what do you do when you want out and you've done all that you can do and you have a controlling idiot such this coward lurking and watching your every move. Legally he can follow you where ever you go (even with a protective order signed by the judge) and there is absolutly nothing the law enforcement can do until abuser physically harms you in some way, its to late then at that point you either have to defend yourself and possibly face a murder charge yourself or hope the abuser only harms you and not take your life, so that they get the evidence and you are able to be with your family/kids again. We have all the nice phamplets that say "Don't be a victim of Domestic Violence" we have services in place to help you and yes they do but you have the screwed up laws that appears to me to protect the abuser. To the law makers we say enough is enough! Its senseless to loose a mother to such a senseless and unecessary crime. <REMOVED BY SITE STAFF> To any victim of domestic violence stand strong hold your head up, join a true church family or seek out one that you trust. Look to the Lord for guidance and protection and know that he will suppy all of your needs. You don't deserve it, you are not expected to live in it and there is hope for you and your family/kids for a brighter tommorrw! Be encouraged, Stay encouraged. Let's take a STAND!
