Grand jury issues 111 indictments

A Suffolk grand jury handed down 111 indictments against 60 defendants on Monday, including several for a man accused in a September 2008 shooting.

Patrick Kenneth Harris was indicted for conspiracy to commit a felony, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted robbery and two counts of participating in a criminal act.

The charges stem from a Sept. 14, 2008, shooting in which the victim was shot three times in the leg while trying to buy marijuana.

On that date, police were called to the 4000 block of Belleharbour Circle after 11 p.m. because of a shooting. According to a police statement at the time of Harris’s arrest, the victim had arranged to meet the suspects at the apartments to buy marijuana. After he got into the suspects’ vehicle, he attempted to flee and was shot after he got out. He survived his injuries.

Twenty-one indictments against 12 defendants were sealed. Other indictments include:

4Willieto Artis — possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

4Teidra Laneida Askew — grand larceny

4Steven Michael Atkins — attempted malicious wounding (4 counts)

4Arthaniel Bailey Jr. — drive while habitual offender, subsequent offense

4Charles Donald Bane Jr. — possess heroin

4Orvell Beamon — third offense larceny

4Teresa Leigh Beasley — grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell or distribute

4Paul Bess — aggravated sexual battery of victim under 13, indecent liberties in custodial relationship

4Quinn D. Burks — assault of family/household member, third offense

4Jonathan Louis Byrd — larceny with intent to sell or distribute, grand larceny

4Sylvester Leon Coles — unlawful wounding

4Horace Copeland — larceny of firearm, intent to sell or possess with intent to sell stolen property

4Danny Damias Council — carnal knowledge of a minor

4Clarence A. Crocker Jr. — possession with intent to distribute marijuana, ½ ounce to five pounds

4Ashley Nicole Deloatch — grand larceny

4Jason David Dingeldein — child neglect or abuse with reckless disregard, destruction of property

4Oscar Lee Ellis Jr. — animal cruelty

4Sandra Leigh Harper — assault of family/household member, third offense

4Patrick Kenneth Harris — conspiracy to commit felony, use of firearm in commission of a felony, attempted robbery, participate in criminal act (2 counts)

4Devinceo Dontre Heart — grand larceny of motor vehicle

4Kelvin Dewayne Herron — concealment

4Carlese Avanda Hite — possess cocaine

4Ronald D. Jackson — failure to appear

4Terri Carr Lassiter — forgery, uttering, use/alter motor vehicle title/registration

4Theodore Dean Lewis — distribute cocaine, third or subsequent offense

4Theresa Nell Lockley — drive while habitual offender, subsequent offense

4Antonio Duran Lucas Sr. — possess heroin

4Wade Leon Lyons Jr. — larceny with intent to sell or distribute (2 counts), grand larceny (2 counts)

4Brendan James Miller — possess cocaine, driving while intoxicated, third offense in five years

4Paul Christopher Mizell — possession with intent to distribute marijuana, ½ ounce to five pounds

4Justin Levon Montgomery — concealment, third offense (3 counts)

4Tevin Palmer — larceny of firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, intent to sell or possess with intent to sell stolen property

4Hector Pope — uttering, forgery, grand larceny

4Daniel Allen Robinson — worthless check, worthless check for wages

4Emmitt George Roscoe — use of firearm in commission of a felony, robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony

4William Carroll Rowe III — attempted malicious wounding (4 counts), reckless driving endangering life, limb or property

4Zachery Lee Spivey — possess heroin

4Terry Darrell Thorne — driving while intoxicated, third offense in five years

4Ada Louise Thorpe-Bassham, assault and battery of law enforcement officer

4Curtis Lee Tredway — carnal knowledge of a minor, grand larceny

4Ladariaus Deontrey White — possess/transport/conceal firearm by convicted felon, use of firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery

4Thomas Lamont White — rape by force, threat or intimidation (2 counts), sodomy – forcible or mental incapacitation (2 counts), abduction with intent to defile

4Alton Antonio Winfield — grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell or distribute

4Calvin D. Wolfe — abduction with intent to defile, sodomy – forcible or mental incapacitation, rape by force, threat or intimidation, wearing mask in public, sexual penetration with object – force or incapacity, burglary – statutory – murder – rape – robbery or arson

If Judge Westbrook "I dismiss" Parker hears any of these cases when they come to trial you can bet many charges will be dropped or jail time will be short in nature. (if any)
