‘Top shelf burglar’ sought
Published Monday, February 8, 2010
Some folks have the most discriminating of tastes, and they won’t let a little thing like the law get in the way of satisfying those tastes.
So it was for a burglar who broken into an ABC store on Constance Road on Jan. 31.

A man reaches for the $49-per-liter Ciroc vodka during a recent burglary at the ABC store on Constance Road.
The store’s surveillance video shows a man break into the store and head straight for the $179-a-bottle Cognac. Stymied when he found only empty display bottles available for the taking, the man quickly turned his sights on the store’s stock of Ciroc vodka, which carries a price tag of “only” $49 per one-liter bottle.
He quickly loaded his backpack with nine of the bottles, leaving the store just over a minute after entering, according to Debbie George, a spokesperson for the city of Suffolk.
The suspect is described at a black male 25-35 years of age, 5’8” to 5’10”, with an average build and weighing 160-180 pounds. He was wearing a dark-blue, hooded sweatshirt under a gray hooded sweatshirt. His blue jeans had faded styling on the front and back of the thigh area. He wore dark boots; dark green, cloth gloves; and a black ski mask with sunglasses. He was carrying a royal blue duffle or gym bag with what appeared to be white symbols or writing on the sides.
Anyone with information about the theft should contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If a caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.

Run Forest Run! What an idiot! Risk going to prison for some vodka! Whoever he tries to sell the bottles too could turn him in for a $1,000 reward and buy a whole lotta vodka......

What a shame and a disgrace...never the less the disease of addition is cunning, baffling and insidious. And when all is said and done he should receive the pettiest theif of the month award..

derrickdivine: I'm not even sure this is a result of the disease of addition. Most of the time they steal amounts like this to sell for money or to trade for drugs. With our legal system being the way it is why stop? They will get a slap on the wrist and call it a day!

OD AND KNRMCO: I am sure you two are just a crushed as I am regarding this brain child. From his level of stupidity he was probably looking for the Thunderbird and Grapefruit Juice. He sure is not the sharpest knife in the drawer...
