David Yates Crittenden Sr., 61, died Jan. 4, 2010, in the VA Medical Center, Hampton.
Born in Suffolk, he was the son of the late Hilda T. and Paul A. Crittenden Sr. He was employed as a ship fitter with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his sons, David Y. Crittenden Jr. and Eric S. Crittenden, both of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; sisters, Paulette C. Moore of Suffolk and Louise C. Whedbee of Orlando, Fla.; and brothers, Paul A. Crittenden of South Daytona Beach, Fla., and Roger D. Crittenden of Suffolk.
A funeral will be conducted Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 4 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., by the Rev. Allen Jeffers, with burial in Albert G. Horton Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
