Pig launcher: Suffolk Assistant Director of Public Works Craig Ziesemer stands by a pipe known as a “pig launcher” outside the Moore’s Point Road well house. The pig launcher is used at the end of construction to help clear newly laid pipelines. Despite the name, no pigs are used in the process, Ziesemer said.
