Nansemond-Suffolk senior Mackenzie Westfall had to go up for this set during the first set of Tuesday’s Tidewater Conference Tournament match against Hampton Roads. Westfall led NSA’s attack with 36 assists as the Lady Saints won 25-18, 25-18, 29-27 and moved into Thursday’s tournament semifinals.

Lakeland won 4-0 to move into Thursday’s semifinals. A win on Thursday will give the Lady Cavaliers a state tournament spot.

Lakeland junior Kelsey Smither was voted the Southeastern District’s Player of the Year by the district’s coaches last week. Smither, Kendell Combs, Kristin Buck, Morgan McCaw and Alyssa Chirico are Lady Cavaliers selected first team all-district as Lakeland went 11-0 against district competition this season.
