The only reason Planning did not approve this site is because it is not in the comprehensive plan as it is written. This plan is on paper. Well, change the plan or make an exception. We are talking about people here, folks. And these people just happen to be our children! We need a centrally located school. Students in South Suffolk and Pleasant Hill areas have traveled for years to Southwestern and now to Robertson to attend school. That's an awfully long ride twice a day. Build the school in a central location. If the School Board recommended Copeland Road, then build it there. Availability of water and sewer? You install them everywhere else you want it. Install it and build the school, please.

I'm all for accountability, etc., but I say get rid of the SOLs. Too much pressure on teachers and students. I await your comments because I know I'm going to get some.

This is so sad. Here we have a young male embarking on adulthood who spent his life preparing to become a model citizen. Then comes along someone else who snuffs out this guy's life. From what I've heard and read, Michael was upstanding, always willing to lend a helping hand. He didn't deserve this. Young people, now you may start to understand why your parents want to keep reigns on you. Learn from this. There are troublemakers out there (when you go out) who don't value life and are quick to pull out their guns and wind up shooting innocent people.

When I tried to complete the survey, I realized that I needed a code. Either my daughter did not bring home the form, I didn't see it, or read it and threw away the correspondence before I noted the code. Oh well! They probably didn't want my opinion if the required code was that small.

Come to think of it, I wonder if that chemical plant contributed to their cancer. I, too, was raised in Pleasant Hill. You are older than me because I didn't pick cotton. I recall the fumes from the fertilizer plant. The fumes are not as noticeable now as they were in the 60s-70s. It has changed ownership a few times since my childhood days so they may be dealing with a different type of chemical.

Thanks for the clarification. I checked before responding and it was Old Dill Road. Correction was made before I read the comment. Again, thanks.

Bear54, I beg your pardon. My parents live near that area. In fact, Dill Road. What do you propose should have happened to them?
