James Brantley

James Brantley, 77, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Troy, died Tuesday, August 3, 1999 in San Diego, California.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Wilton Brantley, his brother, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy, Alabama, with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

He was born December 21, 1921 in Montgomery, Alabama. His parents were Wyatte Kirven Brantley and Nettie Ona Gammill. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired psychology professor at Troy State University, a medical technologist, an avid genealogist; having authored the book, Dear Grandchildren. He was a scouter and a Shriner.

Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Boo Brantley; son, James Ivey Jackson Brantley; one granddaughter; six grandsons; four brothers, Richard, Wilton, Clifford and Robert; and double first cousin, Louise Brantley Tanner.

Pallbearers will be brothers, nephews and Robert Schick.

Visitation will be held between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Hugh Ross Folmar

Hugh Ross Folmar, 68, of Troy, died Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 6, 1999, at Elam Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Max C. Briggs officiating. Burial followed at Elam Primitive Baptist Church in Goshen with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

Survivors include two sisters and brother-in-law, Carlene Carlisle of Troy; Louis and Max C. Briggs of Talladega; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Leila Folmar of Ozark; Phillip Folmar of Troy; Walter and Enid Folmar of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Mildred Folmar of Troy; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to Elam Primitive Baptist Church or the church cemetery, c/o R.Q. Carter, Rt. 2, Goshen, Ala. 36035.

Visitation was held between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Friday, August 6, 1999, at Elam Primitive Baptist Church.

Earnest Lee Hardimon

Earnest Lee Hardimon, 70, of Troy died Thursday, August 5, 1999, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 9, 1999, at the Chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathan Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Ansley, Ala., with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

He was born September 15, 1928 in Pike County. He was the son of Doc Hardimon and Julie Blair. He was educated in the Pike County public schools. He was a retired Nurses Assistant of Michigan State Manor and a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Ansley.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Juanita (Jimmy) Rozier; Josephine (James) Thomas; Eunice (Charlie) Dunn, all of Troy; Dorothy (Joe) McBride of Montgomery; Mary E. Hardimon of Mt. Vernon, New York; Angie Lee Watts and Sibble Barnette of Atlanta, Ga.; Leatha Berry of Troy; nephews, Willie J. (Jewel) Hardimon of Atlanta, Ga.; Eddie Charles; Edward (Janice); Hazel Upshaw and J.C. Hardimon, all of Troy; sister-in-law, Odessa Blair of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Vernon Blair of Troy; dear friends, Roosevelt Rhodes; Ossie Lean Kingred; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Upshaw, J.C. Hardimon, James Otis Suddith, JR Barker; James E. Thomas and Charles Upshaw.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.

Floralbearers will be friends of the family.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 1999, and from 9 until funeral hour on Monday, August 9, 1999.
