The Messenger has served Pike County for the past 133 years, and as we move into the new millennium The Messenger has launched its on-line digital edition. Internet users can surf to http://www.troymessenger.com for the latest in news, sports and community events as featured in The Messenger.

To celebrate the launch of troymessenger.com The Messenger is offering a Trivia Challenge. Each day a local trivia question will appear on the front page of the digital edition. The first person to answer the question correctly via e-mail will win a www.troymessenger.com – Connect t-shirt. To enter just click on the link near the bottom of the trivia question. Make sure to include your name and telephone number so we can contact you when you win.

Every day Internet users will be able to check out the top stories in news and sports. In addition the digital edition of the Messenger will include Datebook, local editorials, staff columns and obituaries.

Also troymessenger.com will include local weather and links to regional news and sports as well as a variety of entertainment related features.

The highlight of our weather page will be illustrations by children in Pike County as they forecast the weather each day. Our weather page will link to local forecasts, satellite image, a Doppler radar and much more.

Our news and sports sections will include top stories for the day as well as top stories from the past week’s editions. Local high school and college football schedules are available. Game highlights and scores will be featured once the season kicks off.

You will also be able to E-mail our staff members simply be clicking on their names. Forms to submit letters to the editor and subscription information will be at your fingertips with The Messenger on-line edition.
