Monroe Douglas Oglesby, 71, of Troy died Wednesday, October 6, 1999, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 8, 1999, at Springhill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Oglesby, and parents, Jack and Thelma Oglesby.

Survivors include children and in-laws, Dale and Tracy Oglesby of Springhill; Luke and Linda Archie of Birmingham; Virginia and Bruce Senn of Springhill; Terry and Tracie Archie of Jack; Dudley and Linda Oglesby of Ozark; Terry and Judy Oglesby of Jack; Myra and Jim Ellis of Ozark; Elaine Stuckey of Enterprise; Wendy McArdle of Opelika; Nancy and Frank Prescott of Mobile; grandchildren, Brandy Archie Jones; Damon Archie, Jennifer Senn, Todd Senn, Caitlin Grissett, Blake Archie, Kerry Archie, Alex Archie, Heather Oglesby, Heath Oglesby, Clay Ellis, Sandy Ellis Melanson, April McArdle, Logan McArdle, John Patrick Oglesby, Shae Oglesby Dewberry, Michelle Oglesby Granthum, Dawn Daughty, Kim Gomey, Pam McKenzie, Shawn Stuckey, Chad Prescott and Adam Prescott; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maude Sheffield of Tarentum; Bulah Corley of Troy; Juanita Rhodes of Tarentum; brothers, Shelby Oglesby of Tarentum; Alto Oglesby of Greenville; Edlow Oglesby of Tarentum; and sister-in-law, Shirley Oglesby.

Visitation was held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., Thursday, October 7, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
