A summer youth basketball camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 17 will be held from Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28 at Lakeland High School. The morning session will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Campers receive 15 hours of instruction and a basketball. The cost is $100. Girls’ basketball tryouts to be held June 28, 29

The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation is teaming with Sentara Family Care to promote regional basketball in the Hampton Roads area. Tryouts for girls ages 12-14 will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 28 at Birdsong Recreation Center and from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, June 29 Proof of age will be required.
