A vehicle apparently mistook an apartment at Hoffler Complex on East Washington Street for a drive-thru late Monday night. Actually, the vehicle, still unknown to police, backed into the apartment in Building C at Hoffler Apartments in the Hollywood section of Suffolk.
No one witnessed the incident and the driver of the vehicle simply pulled out of the mess he’d made and drove away.
Suffolk Police are investigating the accident, which took place at 11:45 p.m., and are asking for the public’s help in apprehending the person who drove into the structure.
Once the driver is identified, he will be arrested and charged with property hit-and-run.
Anyone with information about this accident is asked to call Suffolk Crime Line at 539-1221. Callers to Crime Line will be rewarded with cash if their information leads to apprehension of a suspect. You do not give your name and you will not be asked to testify in court.
