Thomas F. Daughtrey

Mr. Thomas Felton Daughtrey, 66, of 31462 Pulaski Lane, Carrsville, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Alquippi, Pa., he was a son of the late David and Beatrice Daughtrey, and the widow of Margaret Daughtrey.

He retired from the Newport News Shipyard.

He was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church where he was a member of the Senior Choir, Men’s Chorus, Gospel Choir, and Sunday School.

He is survived by one stepson, Michael Banks, one sister, Louise Hines of Suffolk, two brothers, David Daughtrey Jr. of Carrsville, and Joseph Daughtrey of Suffolk; one aunt, Rosa T. Baker; two uncles, Obie Baker and A. Holliman; two grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 in Pulaski Baptist Church by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be in Picott Cemetery, Carrsville.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 219 Prospect Rd., third0floor lobby.

The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at noon at 219 Prospect Rd., Apt. 304.

Kenneth Edwards

On Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, Mr. Kenneth Edwards, 59, of 2525 East Washington

St., Apt. 305, departed this life in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County, and was a son of the late George and Nettie Edwards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Edwards.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Faulk, Keith Nichols and Wallace Nichols, all of Suffolk; a daughter, Sabrina Nichols of Suffolk; three daughters-in-law, 12 grandchildren, and two brothers, James Edwards of Florida, and Wayne Thorne of Suffolk; one sister, Margie Phillips of Massachusetts; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church by Bishop Madison G. Copeland. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

William H. Veale

William Howard Veale, 53, of Suffolk, died Saturday, Aug, 3, 2002 in Obici Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cherry’s Funeral Chapel, 308 East George St., Windsor, N.C. with the Rev. Billy Cherry officiating. Burial will be in the Veale Family Cemetery, Lewiston, N.C.
