Mr. Reginald &uot;Flip&uot; Elam Jr. entered into rest on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, in University Hospital.

The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at B.A. Williams Memorial Chapel with Dr. J.R. Hatney officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden.

Mr. Elam was a native of Isle Wight County, and was a U S. Army veteran.

After 25 years of service, he retired from Thermal Ceramics.

Survivors are his wife, Queen Elam; four sons, Savalas Lattimore, Huntsville, Ala., Reginald Elam III, Toronio Elam, Augusta, Ga., and Willie (Conswella) Yabray Jr., Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Phoebe Yabray and Debora Yabray, Augusta; father and mother, Reginald and Sarah Elam, Suffolk; five sisters, Barbara (Clarence) Moore, Brenda (Ricky) Scott, Linda (James) Holland, Laverne (David) Johnson, and Sarah Elam, Suffolk; six brothers, Larry (Verona) Elam, Calvin (Cynthia) Elam, Ernest (Angie) Elam, Eric (Robin) Elam, James Elam, and David Elam, Suffolk; mother-in-law, Pearl Lewis, Augusta; four grandchildren; three aunts, Lizzie (Willie) Lyons, Hampton; Gracie (Thomas) Waters and Emma (Robert) Phillips, Chesapeake; two great aunts, Evelyn Warran, Zuni, and Elsie Cary, Norfolk; and several other aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
