Offensive thoughts: &uot;We know that we’ve got to come together on the offensive line. We didn’t have communication last week against Norcom, so we’ve got to dominate to get our team going.&uot; – Kenneth Reid, tight end.

Defensive line: &uot;I played for Norview last year, so I have a lot of mixed feelings. I’m playing against the same guys that I hung out and partied with, but I have to keep in mind that winning this game can lead to bigger things, like a state championship.&uot; – Phillip Privott, defensive tackle

Outlook: The Cavaliers play-ed one of their worst halves in recent memory in the second half of last weeks’ 12-10 loss to Norcom. If they don’t win tonight, it could be the beginning of a long and disappointing season.

NANSEMOND RIVER

Opponent: Churchland High School of Portsmouth

Time/Location: 7:30 p.m. tonight, Arrowhead Stadium, Nansemond River High School

Offensive thoughts: &uot;If we can beat Churchland, we can hopefully go on a winning streak and get some motivation for our district games. We’ve all been getting a lot of conditioning in practice.&uot; – Trayce McPherson, running back

Outlook: Like Maus said; the Warriors have been their own worst enemy for the past two seasons, such as their season-opening loss to Kecoughtan two weeks ago. One game without any mistakes could turn the season around, but how long will that take to occur?

NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY

Opponent: Catholic High Sc-hool

Time/Location: 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Catholic High School, 4552 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach

Offensive thoughts: &uot;We really need to get some yards, especially in the air. We’re 3-0 because of our defense.&uot; – Hunter Richardson, tight end

Coach’s corner: &uot;We’ve made a lot of mistakes, with penalties and fumbles. We have to cut that down. Our defense has played extremely well; now it’s time for our offense to show their skills.&uot; – Terry Crigger, head coach

Outlook: The Saints won their last two games by scores of 7-6 and 6-0. If they’re going to keep winning, their offense is going to have to play like it did in their 34-0 whomping of Christchurch on Opening Day.
