Lady Saints ride wave of fan support to victory

Brittany Bishop dropped in 13 points and Hollis Gwaltney pulled down 11 rebounds as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (6-4) defeated visiting Catholic 49-46 on Thursday afternoon.

&uot;This was a great team effort,&uot; said coach Bryan Dyke. &uot;This school is as good as it gets when it comes to fan support, and they were definitely our sixth man tonight.&uot; The Lady Saints will host unbeaten Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday.

Catholic defeated visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17 on Thursday. Brandon Winslow had eight kills and three blocks for the Saints (3-3), and Kevin Eure spiked five more kills.

NSA will visit Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday, and play their first TCIS game at home against Walsingham on Wednesday.
