Lady Saints lose in tennis, 8-1

Richmond Collegiate defeated the visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls tennis team 8-1 on Friday afternoon. Catherine Napora put the only victory in the NSA column when she defeated Catherina Anderson, 10-7.

&uot;We knew it was going to be a tough team, but I’m really pleased with the performance of the girls,&uot; said NSA coach Jody Carson. NSA plays Hampton Roads Academy at home on Monday.

Holland to sponsor softball game Sept. 29

The Holland Community Center will sponsor a softball game between the Holland team and the Buckhorn Pirates at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Holland Community Center. The winner of the game will receive a trophy. For more information, contact James Dailey at 934-8325.

Suffolk Tennis to hold final clinic today

The Suffolk tennis Associa-tion will conduct its final clinic of the year on Sept. 21 at the Howard Mast Tennis Complex. The Beginners class with begin at 9 a.m., the Advanced Beginners at 10:15 a.m., and the Intermedi-ates at 11:15 a.m.

Suffolk AAU 11U girls’ team to hold tryouts soon
