Loraine Callis Hayes of Louisburg, N.C., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002.

She was a former resident of Suffolk.

Among the survivors are two sisters, Alice Clark of Vanceboro and Frances &uot;Frank&uot; Eure of Eure, N.C.; an four brothers, Sam Callis of Suffolk, Va., Alvin Callis of Portsmouth, Elton Callis of Cofield, N.C., and Cecil Callis of Harrellsville, N.C.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Lancaster Funerals and Cremations, Louisburg, conducted by the Rev. Jim Murphy. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

The wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Lancaster Funerals and Cremations, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg.

Corine Langston

Mrs. Corine Langston of 119 N. Lloyd St., Suffolk, Va., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Center. A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Junius Richardsn and Estelle Powell-Richardson, and the widow of Samuel Langston.

She was a member of St. Timothy Baptist Church, its Deaconess Board, Missionary Circle and Sunday School.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Terri D. Langston and Doris J. Cheeks, both of Suffolk, Annette L. Sumler, and husband, Larry, of Virginia Beach, Shirley L. Hicks, and husband, Whitman, of Portsmouth, and Marie L. Johnson, and husband, Thomas, of Hampton; three sons, Johnnie J. Langston, and wife, Jackie, McCoy Langston Jr., and wife, Gladys, all of Suffolk, and Norris W. Langston, and wife, Gwen, of Richmond; two sisters, Laura R. Rodgers and Lucille R. Catada, both of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Richardson, Ernestine Langston and Margie Langston; a brother-in-law, Henry Langston; a devoted niece and nephews, Pamela and Johnnie Robinson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Timothy Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Harden. Interment will be in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The family will receive friends at 119 N. Lloyd St.
