The Sept. 30 edition of the Suffolk News-Herald incorrectly reported that a father allegedly shot his son during an argument around 5:20 p.m. Monday.

According to the police report, the two were fighting at a residence in the 9800 block of South Quay Road when the father grabbed a 22 LR automatic handgun and ordered his son to leave the property. The two men fired one shot into the ground, which kicked up rocks and dirt. The son received his injury after being hit by the rocks and debris created by the shot.

No charges were filed in the incident.
