Mrs. Doris R. Wheeler of 210 N. Fourth St., Suffolk, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Maryview Medical Center.

She was a native of Suffolk, and the widow of Johnnie T. Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wilbert Wheeler Sr., and a brother, Thomas Hurdley.

She was a member of East End Baptist Church, and had retired from Planters Peanut Co.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sarah Wheeler; grandsons, Anthony Wheeler, Wilbert Wheeler Jr., Tyrone Wheeler, and Antwan Wheeler; granddaughters, Janice Dildy (Irvin), Patricia Crandell (Willie) and Felita Green; seven great-great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends; and a devoted friend, Almeta Daughtrey.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in East End Baptist Church. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at 120 Pitchkettle Road.
