If Ashley Winslow and Ashley Hill had wanted to play a perfect game in their last home game at Nan-semond-Suffolk Academy, the Lady Saints’ 81-41 romp over visiting Tidewater Academy would be tough to beat.

Hill dropped in 29 points and Winslow 27 (season highs for both) as NSA racked up its highest point total of the season, and the team’s biggest margin of victory.

&uot;This was awesome,&uot; said an emotional Hill, who played one season on the varsity team after transferring from Green-brier Christian Academy last season. &uot;It’s such a great feeling to end like this.&uot;

The &uot;Ashley Attack&uot; wasted little time getting started, as the two seniors scored their team’s first 14 points, and 16 of its first 18.

The Lady Warriors kept the game close during the first quarter, but their last gasp would be Ashley Pedigo’s jumper with 6:15 left in the second that made the score 18-14, NSA.

Lexi Holland then took over the spotlight, dropping in eight consecutive points over the next two minutes to knock the lead up to 11. The Lady Warriors managed four more points, but Winslow, Hill, and Holland went on a 10-2 run to end the half ahead 35-20.

Hill went right back to work in the third quarter, scoring six points in the first 2:10. She and Winslow combined for 10 more points for the remainder of the quarter, which ended with the Lady Saints on top, 56-37.

But that lead wasn’t enough for NSA, as the Lady Saints went on a 22-0 run in the last six minutes of the fourth quarter. Hill and Winslow combined for 15 of those points, including three-pointers from both.

Lindsay Jarman banged in six points of her own during the run.

&uot;The Ashleys don’t get the ball much!&uot; joked Winslow, a three-year veteran of the varsity team. &uot;It was nice to score like that.&uot;

With 20 seconds left, NSA coach Bryan Dyke finally sat his seniors down. As Hill and Winslow walked off the NSA court one last time, they received a standing ovation from the fans and their fellow teammates.

&uot;That was a great way to end an awesome season,&uot; said Hill.

The Lady Saints will head to Catholic on Monday.
