Hazel T. Comer

Hazel Mae Tate Comer went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002.

A native of Washington, D.C., she was the widow of Ralph Lee Comer. She was the daughter of the late Harry Milton and Ida Victoria Fox Tate and was also predeceased by a son, James Richard Lert Comer, a grandson, Stephenson Sturgill, a sister, Margaret Ellen Tate, and two brothers, Harry M. and William James Tate.

A resident of Suffolk, she was a member of Antioch Church of Christ of Manassas, and was a very active member of Manassas Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include five daughters, Margaret Ellen &uot;Peggy&uot; Comer Walker of Fredericksburg, Ruth Ann Comer of Hampton, Nancy Mae Comer Kiser of Suffolk, Susan Paulette Comer Honaker of Augusta, W.Va., and Lois Jean Comer Skala of New York; 18 grandchildren, Jennifer Lloyd, Gabriel Meyle, Jessica Drake, Isaac, Simon, Benjamin, Kathryn, Emily Kiser; Larry, Sarah, Danielle, James, Martha Honaker; Dana Meile, Shiah, April Caton, Laura, Margaretanna Skala; great-grandchildren, Jason, Casandra, Evelyn, Oceanna, Brianna, Shyanne, Jewelle, John, Gabrielle, Grabriel, Kayla, Alecsander and Taryn; and best friend, Ossie Delp of Manassas, Va.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Parr Funeral Home with the Rev. William E. Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends before the service from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of Nancy Kiser.
