Prince George County officials are still searching for the killer of a Suffolk woman whose body was discovered in the truck of her car last summer.

The body of Rebekah I. Brown, a senior correctional officer at Sussex I State Prison who lived in the Holland community, was discovered on June 28 in the trunk of her car. Although Prince George authorities refused to confirm the information, a recent forensics report listed Brown’s cause of death as asphyxiation.

Detective Corp. Brian Kei, a spokesman for the Prince George County Police Department, said the case is progressing.

Kei said authorities are still awaiting test results from the state division of forensic sciences.

Kei acknowledged that authorities have interviewed a former boyfriend that lived with Brown until 10 days before her death. The boyfriend is a former inmate from the prison where she worked.

&uot;He has not been ruled out,&uot; Kei said. He refused to release the boyfriend’s name.
