To the sorrow and joy of his family, the Rev. Dr. Donald A. Chapman Jr., 55, of Suffolk, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, Nov. 2.

He was a child of God, husband to Judith, father of Katherine and (Robert), Alan, Wayne, Rachel, and (Kenneth), and Janet, and grandfather of Zachary.

Don accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and spent his life serving Him. Most recently, he was the associate pastor of Ivor United Methodist Church and Rocky Hock United Methodist Church; the manager of Al Vincent’ s Insurance Agency in Suffolk, and a member of the Melody Makers. Don and his family firmly believe that &uot;whoever believes in Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life&uot; (John 3:16).
