George E. Eure Sr.

George E. &uot;Puddy&uot; Eure Sr., 78, of 407 Henry St., died on Dec. 2, 2002 at his residence.

He was a native of Suffolk and was retired as an electrician after 30 years of service for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a Methodist.

He was a member of VFW Post No. 2582, Charter Member of Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad and was a former volunteer fireman for the City of Suffolk.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII.

He was son of the late Thomas Eure and Carrie Benton Eure. He was also predeceased by a son, Barry K. Eure and a sister, Earlene E. Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lennie H. Eure of Suffolk; a son and daughter-in-law, George E. Eure Jr. and Hope Eure of Suffolk; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay E. and Tom Brothers, and Becky E. and John Bullock, all of Suffolk; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the graveside by the Rev. T.A. Powell. Interment will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.

Highlee Hale

Mrs. Highlee Hale, 95, of 4953 Sleepy Hole Rd., died on Dec. 1, 2002, in Maryview Medical Center. The funeral service will be announced at a later time. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge.

Aldea D. Senechal

Aldea Dumont Senechal, 95, died on Nov. 28, 2002. The funeral will be private. Parr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
