Guy N. Haslett

Guy Norfleet Haslett, 81, of Suffolk, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at his home.

Born on April 23, 1921 in Suffolk, he was a son of the late Martha Julia Morgan and Joseph Jethro Haslett. He was predeceased by five dear brothers, Joe, Lou, Julian, Tony, and Carlton Haslett, and foster brother, Fred Morgan.

Mr. Haslett was co-owner and operator of Southern Dry Cleaners for many years.

He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and the Franklin Hunt Club.

He had served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Vann Walters Haslett; daughter, Nancy H. Pichel, her husband, M.R. Pichel, of Virginia Beach; son, Hunter Walters Haslett of Isle of Wight County; grandchildren, Tracy P. Shield and Frank H. Pichel; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Michael D. Halley, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
