Antonio Eley and Chris and Melvin Beale led their team on a 6-0 run in the last seven minutes as the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) scored a comeback 19-16 win over the Suns in Novice competition on opening day of the Parks and Rec. Department basketball league at King’s Fork Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

After A.J. Daughtrey brought a 5-0 lead to the Suns in the first two minutes, Eley, Marlon Boone, and Chris and Melvin drummed in 11 consecutive points for BGC. But Chris Hearn snuck through the BGC defense for a jumper to end the first half, and the Suns carried the momentum into the second, as A.J. and Tim Daughtrey scored seven quick points to take a 14-11 lead.

Chris cut the lead to one with a jumper, but Hearn nailed one of his own to give the Suns a 16-13 lead with 8:21 to play. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t score again, and Eley and the Beales knocked in the deciding points.
