Ukless A. Baker, 80, of 120 Bute St., Suffolk, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Suffolk, he was the son of the late George C. Bake and Emma Jane Whitehead Baker.
He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church United, chairman of the Deacon Ministry, a Sunday School teacher and a Bible Study teacher.
He had retired as a supervisor from the United States Post Office in New York City, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
His survivors include his wife, Catherine E. Baker; two stepdaughters, Bonita Byrd of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Tracey Edwards of Norfolk; his sister, Judith Daughtrey of Suffolk; a devoted brother-in-law, Christopher Holland; two nieces, Gwendolyn W. Parker (McCoy) of Chester; Linda Campbell (Thomas) of Stratford, Conn.; his nephew, Leonard Wiggins Jr. (Cassandra) of Amelia; goddaughter, Monique Barnes; several other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 1 in Bethlehem Christian Church United by the Rev. Emanuel Myrick Jr. Interment will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
