Gertrude Smith Lewis, 82, formerly of Fennell Lane and recently of Nansemond Pointe Rehab and Health Care, Suffolk, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003.

Mrs. Lewis, a native of Suffolk, was the daughter of the late Charles William Smith and Mary Ellen Hingerty Smith. She was the widow of Franklin M. Lewis since his death in 1977.

She had retired as a veterinary assistant at Actin Animal Hospital, Chesapeake.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Edgar M. Lewis of Hernando, Fla., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Robert Cummins.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
