Roland W. Humphries of Suffolk and Mary Ann Humphries of Fredericksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda J. Humphries, to James Barry Armstrong.

He is the son of James E. and Lona M. Armstrong of Chocowinity, N.C., and Spiller V. and Nancy M. Anderson of Suffolk.
