John C. Cross Jr., 73, of Suffolk, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003. Born on May 11, 1929, in Gatesville, N.C., he was the son of the late Irene Munns and John C. Cross Sr. Mr. Cross served in the Air Force, and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

He formerly owned Suffolk Towers and for many years was a business accountant and owner of Computer Accounting Services.

Survivors include his former wife, Dorothy B. Cross of Suffolk; sons, John C. Cross III, his wife, Lynn Moon, Stephen T. Cross, all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Marie C. Evans and Joshua T. Cross; great grandchildren, Andrew J. Webb and Michael L. Evans.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. H. Vance Mann III, with burial in Gatesville Cemetery, Gatesville.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
