Thomas Edward Chappell, 42, of Suffolk, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at his home.

Born on March 5, 1961, in Suffolk, he was a son of Charles Edward Chappell and the late Shirley Spivey Chappell.

Mr. Chappell had been employed as a welder.

Besides his father, he is survived by his son, Christopher Thomas Foster; sister, Deborah Chappell Kempton, her husband, Neill, of Smithfield; brother, Craig Allen Chappell, his wife, Judy, of Suffolk; paternal grandmother, Bernice W. Chappell of Sunbury, N.C.; aunts, uncles, a niece and a nephew.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert J. Parks with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, and other times at 2236 Lake Cohoon Rd.
