David Ray Phippins, 31, of Suffolk, died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

He was a maintenance worker at Gwaltney, and was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Kay Phippins.

Survivors include his son, David Ray Phippins Jr. of Suffolk; his daughter, Karen Rae Phippins of Suffolk; his mother, Mildred Blanche of Suffolk; his father, William T. Phippins Sr. of Windsor; his brothers, William T. Phippins Jr., Benny Lee Phippins and Jack Keith Phippins, all of Suffolk; and his grandmother Martha Phippins of Suffolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the R.W. Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. Byron McCreary, with burial in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday in the R.W. Baker Funeral Home.
