The organization is offering Easter Lilies for sale again this year to benefit the local Disaster Relief Fund. Lilies will be available on April 11 and 18.

Lilies come in a 6-inch pot with four to six large, fragrant blooms. The pots are decorated with green foil and white ribbon and bow.

Faye G. Byrum, the executive director of the Suffolk Chapter Red Cross, said orders may be placed by calling the office at 539-6645, by noon of the Monday prior to the requested pick up date. Orders of 20 or more can be delivered upon request. Individual orders are $10 each, but orders of 20 or more offer a discount, just $9 each.

&uot;Disaster has been no stranger to Suffolk this year,&uot; said Byrum. &uot;We have experienced many single-family and apartment fires, and the chapter’s $25,000 direct disaster assistance budget has already been spent. You can help by purchasing lilies from the Red Cross and make a difference in the life of someone left homeless from disaster.&uot;

For more information and to order, call the Suffolk chapter at 539-6645, or orders may be placed by e-mail at fbyrum@crossnet.org.
