Nansemond River High School’s tribute to Randy Burden has been moved to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 26, before the Warriors battle cross-town rival Lakeland. Burden, a 1997 River graduate, died in early December of a faulty heart valve.

‘Relay for Life’ garage sale to be held April 12

A garage sale to raise money for Relay for Life will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12 at King’s Fork Middle School. Students, instructors, and interested participants can either donate some of their own items, or rent a table for $10 and set up shop. For more information, call Ella Benson at 488-1055.

YMCA field hockey league starts April 12

The Suffolk YMCA will be holding a field hockey clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays from April 12-May 3. The clinic is open to participants age 9-17, and each player must bring shin guards, a field hockey stick and a ball. The fee is $45. For more information, contact Anna Stevens at 934-9622.
