On Saturday, April 12, 2003, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, who is too wise to error, saw fit to take from our midst our beloved, Mr. Willie Nickerson Peete, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

He was a native of Rich Square, N.C. and was a son of the late Robert and Georgia Stevens Peete. He was also predeceased by a son, Willie Nickerson Peete Jr.; a brother, Robert Fulton Pete, and a sister, Hattie Mae Cotton.

Mr. Peete was a logger who retired after many years of service. He was also a well-known fisherman who received many citations for his skill.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee Peete, two daughters, Jean Roberta Peete and Austrella Virginia Peete, a sister, Mrs. Marie Jones, a devoted niece, Dell Holland, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Thursday in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery, 1656 Copeland Rd.

Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m., today in the funeral home.

The family will greet friends at 2210 Georgia Ave.
