A pot of food left unattended Friday morning resulted in a fire, causing $30,000 worth of damage in a Redwood Court home.

Suffolk Fire Captain Jim Judkins said the fire also destroyed $15,000 worth of the $30,000 in contents of the home, which is owned by David Kilgore. He also noted that damages were contained in the kitchen. There were no injuries.
