Retirement center will be featured on TV show

Lake Prince Center in Suffolk will be featured on &uot;Discover America,&uot; the awarding-winning television travel series, according to a Lake Prince press release.

The show will highlight why United Church Retirement Homes, Lake Prince’s parent organization, has achieved a good reputation for quality continuing care and wellness services for active adults for more than 30 years.

The camera crew will feature the Suffolk retirement community and its setting amidst 170 acres of woods, walking trails and gardens. The show will include social and recreational activities and health serves available to the community’s 300 residents. Lake Prince Center boasts a healthcare center, fitness center, computer center, library, and inter-denominational chapel. Residents are encouraged to take part in educational programs and enjoy special interest hobbies and classes like woodworking and painting as well as day trips to Williamsburg, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

&uot;Discover America&uot; airs nationally on the Travel Channel (Charter channel 43) and is produced by the Teaching Learning Network of West Palm Beach, Fla. The episode featuring Lake Prince Center airs at 8 a.m. Friday, May 23.
