John Linwood Mizell, 50, of Suffolk, departed this life Tuesday, May 13, 2003.

He was a Medic Specialist in the United States Army.

He was the son of Mrs. Vivian Mizell. and the late Emmett J. Mizell.

His survivors include his mother of Suffolk; one daughter, Lisa Mitchell of Suffolk; three sons, Johnny Parrish of Suffolk; Jerone and Damion Mizell, both of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Juanita Thompson, and her husband, Hilton Thompson, of Suffolk; one brother, James Emmett Mizell, and his wife, Tammy Mizell, of Suffolk; six grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Abraham Applewhite and Sons Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Fletcher Reid. Burial will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
