John &uot;Johnny&uot; Wayne Boone Sr., 58, of Suffolk, died Friday, May 18, 2003, at his home. A native of Suffolk, he was born on April 3, 1945, a son of J.P. Boone of Suffolk, and the late Minnie Lee Earley Boone.

He had retired as president of J.P. Boone’s TV Inc.

Other survivors include his wife, Phyllis Guthrie Boone; one son, John Wayne Boone Jr. of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Barbara W. Hill of Suffolk; and Stacey L. Germain of Friday Harbor, Wash.; one brother, Donald L. Boone of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Hannah Hill, Madison Hill and Ethan Germain.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Lindsey Poteat. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
