Visitors and residents are invited to recognize friends or family members who died serving this country by adding a decoration to the Suffolk Visitor Center’s newly planted Memorial Tree.

People can write the names of their loved ones on red, white and blue stars and ribbons that can be picked up at the visitor center anytime between now and May 30, said Lynette Brugeman, director of tourism. The stars and ribbons will hang on the tree through the end of this month.

The tourism department will also decorate the tree planted next to the Prentis House for other holidays.
