Jenkins enters race for clerk

Clinton L. Jenkins is a candidate for the clerk of Suffolk Circuit. He views the clerk seat as the vehicle for improving his contributions to the citizens of Suffolk

Jenkins is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. While employed at Western Tidewater Mental Health Center as a crisis stabilization worker, he is pursing graduate studies at Regent University for a joint degree in divinity and counseling. He has a bachelor degree in human resources administration from Saint Leo University and an associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College with studies in administration of justice. He is a graduate of the Suffolk Leadership Academy at Paul D. Camp Community College.

He has 19 years of logistics contracting experience with government and defense logistics agencies. As an administrator and manager, he provided service for Signal Corporation, Westinghouse, and Automation Research Systems. As a manager, he was involved in the planning, designing and developmental stages of logistics operation and managed the largest classified storeroom of legal and technical documentations in the Tidewater area. His educational and logistics experience gives him the expertise for analyzing documents, processes, and procedures. Jenkins interacted with government officials, defense logistics personnel, vendors and civilian personnel on a regular basis. He is trained in various computer applications and analyzing computer processes.

He is married to Karen L. Jenkins, CEO of Nansemond Credit Union, and they have three daughters, Ashlin, Britney, and Candice.

Jenkins is Scoutmaster of Troop 51 of East End Baptist Church, Assistant Director of Pop Warner Downtown Athletic Association Inc., Legislation Chairman of Nansemond River High School PTA, a member of Virginia Counselor Association (VCA), formal chairman of SPOR/AC (Sports/Academics) Suffolk Summer Youth Program, former president of the Suffolk Civic Forum and Lake Kennedy Civic League and he works with numerous other civic leagues throughout Suffolk.

Vanessa Savage is his campaign manager; Dr. Mark Croston is his assistant campaign manager; Albert Jones is treasurer; Tammy McBride will manage clerical operations; and Susie Bennett and Karen Jenkins are his advisors.
