Len Richardson, 86 of 5024 Old Pughsville Road, Chesapeake, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.

A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Charlie Elner and Elner Nannie Cakes, and the widower of Corine Richardson.

He had retired as a truck driver from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and a member of Poplar Run Baptist Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Louise Watson, and her husband, Melvin, of Suffolk; Hazel Richardson of Rochester, N.Y.; and Dorothy Spivey, and her husband, Arthur, of Chesapeake; three sons, Linwood Richardson, and his wife, Barbara, of Portsmouth; Sidney Richardson of Richmond; and Leon Richardson, and his wife, Kathlyn, of Chesapeake; one sister, Thelma McComb of Bloomfield, Conn.; one brother, William Cakes of Chesapeake; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and nieces nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in Poplar Run Baptist Church by the Rev. James Williams.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
