Kenneth Gayle Thomas, 65, of Suffolk, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at his home.

Born on Feb. 18, 1938, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Ivy Powell Truitt.

Mr. Thomas was a machinist with Vitex and had served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Doughty Thomas; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and H.L. Worrell of Suffolk; Kathy-Sue and Jerre Olson of Franklin, Amy and Jason Byrum of Suffolk; sister, Connie Truitt of Gates, N.C.; brothers, Al Truitt of Suffolk, Wayne Truitt of Newton, N.C.; grandchildren, Richard and Lillian Worrell, Tracey Ludwig, Gregg Olson, Michelle, Adam and Kelly Whitley, Jonathan and Ashley Byrum.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the graveside at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by Pastor Tony Peaks.

The family will receive friends at the Thomas Home.
