Dr. and Mrs. Michael John Debranski of Suffolk announce the engagement of their daughter Margaret Michael Debranski, to Matthew Joseph Kelhart.

Mr. Kelhart is the son of Mrs. Joseph Anthony Costa of Perkasie, Pa., and Mr. Joseph Andrew Kelhart of Bethlehem, Pa.

Miss Debranski is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Vanderslice Beamon of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Suffolk, and Mrs. Michael Debranski of Woodstock, Ga., and the late Mr. Debranski.

She is a graduate of Lakeland High School, Suffolk, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, where she earned a bachelor of arts in political science. She is enrolled in the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University natural resources graduate program and is working as a marketing coordinator for a real estate firm in Alexandria.

He is the grandson of Mrs. William Shuryn of Allentown, Pa., and the late Mr. Shuryn, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew John Kelhart of Allentown.

Mr. Kelhart graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School, Bethlehem, served five years in the United States Marine Corps, and will graduate in August with a bachelor of arts in political science from The Pennsylvania State University.

An October 2003 wedding is planned.
