Tara McClenney, George Worley united in First Baptist, Suffolk

Tara Louise McClenney and George Edgar Worley IV were joined in marriage Saturday, May 10, 2003, in First Baptist Church of Suffolk.

The Rev. Neal Johnson performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. McClenney of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Worley III of Suffolk.

The bride is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McGanty of Virginia Beach. She is the paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McClenney of Harrisonburg.

The groom is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Phyllis Baker of Portland, Ore., and the late Mr. Baker. He is the paternal grandson of Louise Worley of Smithfield.

Mrs. Melissa L. Fago of Suffolk, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor, and Emily Mogan of Newport News, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were: Katie Worley of Suffolk, sister of the groom; Jennifer Presson of Suffolk, friend of the bride; Amy Rowley of Portsmouth, friend of the bride; and Dawn Sheffer of Erie, Pa., friend of the bride.

George Worley III, father of the groom, served as his son’s best man.

The groomsmen were: Tommy Woods of Suffolk, friend of the groom; Dale Fago of Suffolk, brother-in-law of the bride; Phillip Eason of Virginia Beach, friend of the groom; Gary Worley of Suffolk, brother of the groom; and Steve Jernigan of Suffolk, friend of the groom.

Jeff Hyatt of Suffolk, friend of the groom, served as an usher.

Maegan Samuel of Orlando, Fla., cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl. Corey Lee Fago of Suffolk, nephew of the bride, served as the ring bearer.

Jennifer Winslow of Suffolk, friend of the bride, served as the mistress of ceremonies.

Soloists during the ceremony were Vicki Brown of Suffolk and Casey Gardner of Elizabeth City, N.C., both friends of the bride.

Christine Drames of Suffolk, friend of the bride and groom, served as the guest book attendant.

Nora Johnson of Suffolk, friend of the bride, served as the program attendant. Dot Murray, counselor for First Baptist Church, assisted with organization of the ceremony.

The groom’s family hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Holiday Inn of Suffolk. The reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Bide-A-Wee Pavilion in Portsmouth.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev., and reside in Suffolk.
