Lillie Knight Seymore, 87, of Sunbury, N.C., died on Friday, June 27, 2003, in Rocky Mount, N.C.

She taught in Gates County Public Schools for over 30 years. Lillie was an active member of her church, New Middle Swamp Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C.; the Happy Golden Club; the Rosa B. Riddick Alumni Chapter of ECSU, the Golden Rod Subordinent Tent; the Royal Degree Circle; and the Gates County Unit of the North Carolina Retired School Teachers.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Paula S. Jones of Rocky Mount; granddaughters, Yolanda Jones of Roswell, Ga.; Tasha, Davida and Chanita Jones, all of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and grandsons, Brian and Marcus Jones of Rocky Mount.

Family and friends will celebrate her life at noon on Wednesday, July 2, at New Middle Swamp Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at St. John AME Zion Church Cemetery in Sunbury, N.C. Services are entrusted to H.D. Pope Funeral Home, 326 S. Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27803.
